How to Quickly Clean Your Air Purifiers

Air purifiers are a fantastic tool to keep the air in your home nice and clean, especially for those of us blessed with allergies, like yours truly. I actually have one in every room of my home! It’s important to keep your air purifiers clean so they can function properly and help you breathe easier. But it can be time-consuming to clean them, which is why we’re going to tell you how to quickly clean your air purifiers:

1. Know Your Purifier

This one seems like a no-brainer, but you need to figure out what kind of air purifier you have. Not the brand or the model, but the filter: is it a permanent filter or removable? This way you’re not trying to remove something you aren’t supposed to. While you’re at it, if it does have a removable filter, check your manual to see how to disassemble it so you don’t spend a ton of time figuring it out (or possibly breaking it!)

2. Take It Apart

This doesn’t apply to every kind of purifier, but if you can remove the filter, carefully do so. Make sure you do this in a well-ventilated area, like your porch, garage, or yard. You don’t want dust getting back into your home!

3. Spray That Air!

Canned air is your best friend when it comes to cleaning these machines! After you’ve carefully taken it apart (according to instructions), use the canned air to blow out all the nooks and crannies. You’ll be shocked at the amount of dust that comes out!

4. Wipe It Down

Before you put it back together, get a soft cloth and wipe down your air purifier. Make sure to get the outside, top, sides, and bottom. Sometimes, you’ll need to get a little of the inside, but the canned air should’ve taken care of that.

5. Replace the Filter

If you have an air purifier that has a removable filter, it may be time to change it. Inspect your filter and see if it has any tears, chunks missing, or looks like it needs to be replaced. If so, replace it! You’ll want to make sure your filter is in top shape, otherwise, it won’t be able to do its job. Make a note in your phone or your planner when you’ve changed the filter so you can keep track!

6. Put It Back Together

After you’ve finished cleaning and inspecting, it’s time to put your air purifier back together! You should notice an improvement in it’s purifying abilities!

Don’t forget to admire your clean air purifier! After all, it does so much for you! How do you clean your air purifiers? Let us know your tips and tricks!
