We know how much you love to clean your home and look forward to spending hours getting into all the nooks and crannies! Or is that just us? Maybe that’s mostly just us, but we know you value your time (and elbows!). You can’t spend all day scrubbing away - so that’s why we came up with this list of cleaning hacks, so you can get back to what you enjoy:
1. Shower Time
Do you know those dishwashing wands that you can put soap in the handle and it comes out in the sponge? Get one and fill it up with vinegar and dish soap. When you’re in the shower, use the wand to wash down the walls. This not only cleans the walls but also prevents soap scum and hard water stains! Just make sure to rinse well after. Not a bad excuse to stay in the shower a bit longer!
2. Hack Your Kitchen
Get out one of your rags, make it damp, and wrap it around a butter knife. Simply run the wrapped knife in that crevice between the stove and the counter to remove all of those pesky crumbs and bits that somehow manage to accumulate there.
3. Banish Hard Water
Does your kitchen or bathroom sink have some hard water buildup? It can seem impossible to get off but this hack makes it easy! Take some vinegar-soaked paper towels and push them up against the areas where the hard water buildup is. Let them sit for an hour or 2, then wipe off the hard water deposits! If the deposits are really built up, you may need to repeat the process.
4. Forget the Mattress Funk
Have you noticed your mattress having a funky smell? Don’t worry, that’s totally normal AND easy to fix! Take a cup of baking soda, mix in 4-5 drops of your favorite essential oil, and shake it up. If you have a king-sized mattress, you may want to double up on the amounts. Once it’s mixed, sprinkle it directly on your mattress (this means removing all the sheets and pillows). Let it sit for at least 1 hour and then simply vacuum it up with the upholstery attachment! You should repeat this process once a month to keep your mattress fresh.
5. Lovely Lint Roller
Do you have dusty lampshades? Wiping them down with a cleaner always seems to just drag the dust around. Try using a lint roller! It will collect all of that dust and prevent it from flying everywhere. Use it on your screen door too - all of those cobwebs, dirt, and grime will be gone in no time!
There are so many hacks out there! We could go on and on (and we will!). What are your favorite hacks to clean your home? Let us know in the comments!
